2023 Calendar Competition
A note of thanks from Dryburgh District Churches to all those who entered our recent Calendar Photography Competition. There were over 75 entries submitted and the judges found it a difficult task to identify the final images for each month of the year. After much deliberation the chosen entries have been selected and sent to our printer/designer for creating our Dryburgh Churches Calendar for 2023.
We expect our 2023 calendar should be ready for sale during the month of August and if you would like to purchase a calendar, details of how to obtain them will be available in our Church Magazine and on our website at that time.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL OUR CONGREGATIONS
On Tuesday 23rd March 2021, at a meeting of Presbytery we heard that concurrence of the vote for our Basis of Union had been given by the Presbytery Planning Task Group within the Church of Scotland Offices at 121 George Street, Edinburgh. The plan for our Linked Charge to become a United Charge is going ahead.
The name of our United Charge is Dryburgh District Churches and although we will still have all our buildings we will still keep each Church name. There will be a special service to mark the Union at some point in the future, when restrictions are eased further.

Our regular organists for Maxton – Mrs Elvira Denoon and for Newtown Mr Derek Reid, have decided to retire from playing the organ. Elvira has been the organist at Maxton for over 40 years, which is a long time. Derek was the regular organist in Newtown before he went off to France for a few years and came back just when Newtown were in need again. Derek is the choir master of the Newtown Community Choir and continues in that role. We thank both of them for their service to our Churches, and wish them well.
Presentation to Derek Reid

At Sunday morning worship in Newtown Church on 6th December, a presentation was made to Derek Reid who has retired as organist at Newtown. Derek was thanked by Rev Sheila for playing at Newtown over a number of years, as well as 'filling in' at the other churches in the Charge when needed. Derek was presented with a Milestone gift voucher and a bottle of wine.
