Mertoun Kirk Interior
Mertoun Kirk is set in an area of mature woodland on Mertoun Estate. Although it dates back to the 17th century, its interior today has an almost contemporary feel with its clean lines, plain wooden pews, high roof and numerous clear windows. It is a light and bright church in a unique situation. It has recently had new carpets in a rich burgundy colour, with the same on the pew seats, and a church member, skilled in needlework, has created a beautiful new pulpit fall depicting a stylised burning bush worked in burgundy and gold shades. Mertoun Kirk has its own special atmosphere reflecting the very peaceful, natural environment surrounding it.
