Art Group
St Boswells Art Group was formed over ten years ago and from modest beginnings with just six members has gone from strength to strength. We now have our optimum number of 26 members (limited only by table space). The Group meets in St Boswells Church Hall every Monday from 1.30 till 4pm with a short break for tea or coffee & biscuits at half time. We are all very much amateurs who simply enjoy painting, good company, good conversation and helping one another out with our Art.
Members each come along to do their own thing and virtually all mediums are represented - Watercolour, Acrylics, Oils, Pastels & even Lino cutting. Periodically we have day Workshops at the week-end from 10am to 4pm when a Tutor is engaged to facilitate improvement and introduce new techniques. We have a very mixed membership with a fifty year age range from thirties to eighties; fifteen female and eleven males. The Group holds an Annual Exhibition of its work each September in the Church Hall.
Due to limited table space we have a small waiting list and anyone wishing to be placed on this list is welcome to visit us on a Monday afternoon or to get in touch with the Group Secretary - Tony Burton Tel: 01835 824385.
